Joli Vin imports
Located at the base of the Corton hill, in the village parcel Les Combes exposed to the south/southwest, just below the Grand Cru Les Chaumes and planted in the 1970s. 20% whole cluster fermentation and bottled just prior to the following year’s harvest.
Decidedly different from the Pavelot reds which originate just on the other side of the road in neighboring Pernand. Fascinating how in Burgundy such minute changes in location make such dramatic differences in the glass. Seductive notes of smoky black tea, dark cherry and plum set against a mineral counterpoint of cherry pit to wet stone and even chalk. This is an elegant, classy wine whose soft, silky tannins are easy on the palate. An Aloxe-Corton village wine teasingly approachable in its youth.
Bourgogne AligotéThere’s good reason why Aligoté is the white wine accompanied by a splash of the syrupy sweet, locally produced crême de cassis which serves as the base for the well known Burgundian apéritif Kir.
