The high elevation Gigondas parcel in the lieu-dit of Grand Montmirail, between 400 and 520 m is among the highest in the appellation and inspired the name for the domaine, as Ouréa was the Greek God for mountains and heights.

A more brooding and also more profound character than its Vacqueyras companion. Purity and definition that is exemplary. Great intensity and elegance. Deep, brooding, black cherry fruit, kirsch and in spite of its concentration, posesses an airy, almost ethereal quality. Fine and well integrated tannins. Magic is not an unapt descriptor and this wine lends credence to the notion that a Gigondas wine, when in the hands of a dedicated vigneron, is indeed a Grand Cru of the south.

VacqueyrasAn explosion of dark berry fruit, floral notes, plush, velvety palate and supple tannins make this wine extremely attractive in its youth.
