Coucou Blanc

Coucou Blanc

Appellation: Côtes du Marmandais
Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Semillon
Vineyards: Multiple parcels with various exposures
Average age of vines: 30-40 years
Principal soil type: Clay/gravel over marl (clay/limestone) base

Atypic for the region and an hommage to the influential years Élian spent in Alsace at Zind-Humbrecht. An unctous, textural wine akin to the rich Chenin Blanc of the Loire. A wine that can easily give the impression with its straw yellow color, its soft, velvety palate, its quince and beeswax flavor profile and its seamlessly integrated patina palate, that it is much older than is the case. This wine, regardless of the vintage, drinks well beyond its years.

A complex range of flavors and textures awaits you. Ripe orchard and pit fruit from apples and quince to orange and abricot. Scents of acacia, chamomille and bergamont flowers and posessing a velvety texture. Yet for all its richness and concentration, this wine does not lose its lightness, precision and focus. By any measure, a wine of exceptional depth, complexity and grace.
