Appellation: Côtes du Marmandais
Varietal: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Abouriou and Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyards: A single parcel, exposed to the south, of clay/limestone over limestone base.
Principal soil type: Clay/gravel over marl (clay/limestone) base.
Issued from a single parcel of the same name, (baquey: the boy who guards the cows after school) adjacent to his home, this wine represents the pinnacle of this talented winemaker's work.
By any measure a grand and complex wine. Dark concentrated fruit, wild herbs and minerality build a rich aromatic profile while fine and well integrated tannins extend the palate and carry the wine to a long and lingering finish. Superb elegance and tension. A wine for the cellar and for a grand occassion.
